Omega-3 fatty acid supplement for use in dogs with allergic and inflammatory dermatological skin conditions

OMEGA 3 may aid in the treatment of allergic and inflammatory dermatological conditions responsive to polyunsaturated fatty acids in dogs. The essential fatty acids contained are essential to life, and are proven anti-inflammatory agents, but are not manufactured in the body. They must be available from the diet. 
The ratio between Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids is rarely correct in the domestic dog diet. Omega 6 fatty acids form the aggressive inflammatory and allergic reactions, while the Omega 3 fatty acids form a very mild inflammatory reaction, and actually block the more severe Omega 6 fatty acid reactions.

OMEGA 3 fatty acids adjust the ratio of Omega 3:Omega 6 fatty acids, thus reducing the severity of allergic and inflammatory reactions.

Over 80% of allergic dermatitis cases in dogs are flea allergy or diet related.

* OMEGA 3 is essential fatty acids that may aid the treatment of allergic and inflammatory dermatological conditions in dogs.
* OMEGA 3 fatty acids are not manufactured by the body.  They must be available from the diet.
* OMEGA 3 fatty acids reduce inflammation, but without side effects of cortisone products.
* Formulated for daily dosing either orally or on food.

ACTIVE CONSTITUENTS: each 1 g contains a minimum of
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) 85 mg
Docosahexaenoic acid 59 mg
Linolenic acid 120 mg
Linoleic acid 120 mg 
sourced from fish oil and linseed oil

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Give OMEGA 3 at a dose rate of 1 mL per 7 kg bodyweight per day, or as directed by your veterinarian. Give either orally or mixed on food.
  One press of the plunger = 2mL

Continue daily dosage for 2 weeks or until any initial skin reaction is under control. It is then possible to reduce applications, depending on the individual dog. Most dogs can be maintained with every second day doses.

Any concurrent therapy to reduce the actual cause of the allergy or inflammation, such as fleas or diet, is important.

OMEGA 3 can be used safely with all Nature Vet products.
